2012 – Marmite Christmas lights
Following the release of limited edition Marmite Gold – that has the same unique ‘love it or hate it’ taste with the addition of real edible gold flecks (link to limited edition page) – we were keen to crown this gold-standard year for Britain by illuminating London’s most famous Christmas shopping district.
Spreading the Christmas sparkle
The display featured animated characters, which ran from Marble Arch to Poland Street for a six week period, features classic Christmas characters with a love/hate twist. It gave people the chance to show whether they love or hate Marmite displayed on a specially designed banner overlooking Selfridges.
People had their moment of fame by uploading a photo to www.facebook.com/Marmite. The app launched following the official switch-on ceremony outside House of Fraser.
Shoppers on Oxford Street were also able to get involved through an interactive bus shelter located near Bond Street tube station. The shelter housed a camera for shoppers to take a photo which was uploaded to the lights within three minutes.
