Marmite Gravy


Vegetable oil – 3 large tablespoons
Large onions – 3 (sliced)
Garlic cloves – 2 (crushed)
Light brown sugar – 1 tablespoon
Plain flour – 25g
Vegetable stock – 500ml
Marmite – 2 teaspoons



Step One  Heat the oil in a large pan

Step Two  Add the onions, garlic & sugar then fry over a low heat for 25-30 mins until the onions are caramelised

Step Three  Dust with the flour & cook for 1 minute. Gradually stir in the stock & the marmite then bring to the boil

Step Four  Reduce the heat & simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until thickened

Step Five  Keep warm until ready to serve
